We must face the pandemic by exploring new ideas to support the world's economic recoveryJakarta (ANTARA) - Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi has called on the youth, especially students, to venture into the world of entrepreneurship and inspire creative and innovative businesses for driving the Indonesian economy.
"Young generations need to be invited to develop in the world of entrepreneurship and inspire and build creative and innovative businesses for the Indonesian economy," the minister noted in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday.
Lutfi delivered the statement during the 10th International Conference on Economics, Business and Management (ICEBM) hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Business at Tarumanagara University.
The minister reminded one and all to pursue continued development and advancement of the Indonesian economy in order to compete globally in terms of the economy.

Head of the 10th ICEBM Committee, Dr Miharni Tjokrosaputro, stated that people worldwide had been reeling from the impacts of the pandemic. Hence, the opportunity through economic recovery must be tapped optimally.
“Scientists and doctors are struggling to create a vaccine, as are entrepreneurs and the society that are grappling to survive. We must face the pandemic by exploring new ideas to support the world's economic recovery," Tjokrosaputro stated.
He pointed out that for a decade, the ICEBM had served as a forum to share and move forward together for the sake of the global economy.
"The event, which aims to share new ideas and innovations in the business and economic world, continues to present various solutions to address the world's economic problems," rector of Tarumanagara University, Prof. Dr. Ir Agustinus Purna Irawan IPU ASEAN Eng, stated.

Representative from St Paul University Manila, Dr Jeetendra Vaswani, remarked that the COVID-19 pandemic had caused wide-ranging impacts and brought about many changes worldwide. However, there are several positive things to learn from the pandemic.
"New ideas and innovations must be transformed into a strategy to deal with the unpredictable needs of the world economy," he remarked.
According to Chairman of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII), Dr Ir Heru Dewanto IPU ACPE, innovation is the exact solution to problems in several sectors, including the economy.

“Today, we live in an era where everything can change rapidly. Hence, adapting is not enough. We also have to develop and innovate to deal with the existing changes, whatever they are," Dewanto remarked.
They also collaborate with various domestic and foreign universities, such as Kun Shan University, Taiwan; Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Malaysia; Trisakti School of Management, Prof Dr Moestopo University; and Mpu Tantular University.
The 2021 ICEBM was attended by over 650 participants comprising academics and students from various countries, such as Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Australia, and Canada.
