We must capitalize on the momentum to unlock Indonesia's potential and promote our development progress to the worldJakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has pinned high hopes on Indonesia bolstering its role in the region and globally through the G20 Summit.
Pandjaitan remarked that the G20 Summit was not only a showcase of Indonesia's socio-economic progress but also presented an opportunity to introduce Indonesian culture to the world.
"As the host country for G20, we want to increase our global recognition, influence, and power. On the other hand, partner countries are also awaiting our role at the regional and global levels to increase," the minister noted in a statement here, Saturday.
Indonesia becoming a host country in the G20 Presidency could play an important role in its post-pandemic recovery, he added.

"We must capitalize on the momentum to unlock Indonesia's potential and promote our development progress to the world," the minister remarked.
The Indonesian government will be focusing on several sectors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the tourism sector and micro-small-medium enterprises (MSMEs).
In addition, Indonesia will present its initiatives on sustainable development as agreed in the Paris Agreement, such as energy transition and the use of electric vehicles. However, Pandjaitan reminded that this initiative would not suffice.
"We must also be able to capture the increasing global interest to invest in our country by creating investment opportunities that are in line with the national development goals," he emphasized.
