The animal feed and animal health services post in Sumbermujur treats several types of animals, such as two cows with burns and a cat with leg inflammation, as well as kept track of the condition of six catsJakarta (ANTARA) - The Mount Semeru Disaster Mitigation Command Post expedited assistance by offering treatment to animals affected by the incident, especially those owned by the public, during the emergency response period.
Three posts are in place for the distribution of animal feed and animal health services, which are managed by the Lumajang Livestock Service Office.
"The three posts are located in the villages of Sumberwuluh, Sumbermujur, and Supiturang. On Sunday (December 12), the animal feed post and animal health service in Sumberwuluh Village treated two residents' cows and three goats," acting head of the Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center at the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, Abdul Muhari, said in a statement received here on Monday.
Muhari remarked that the post also provided 17 tons of forage for cattle and goats. Additionally, they provided 25 kg of cat food and 25 kg of chicken feed.

The Command Post also distributed 2.5 quintals of concentrate, packages of basic necessities and clothing from the Bondowoso inseminator DPC, and 65 kg of pasteurized milk.

Officers at the command post examined two search and rescue dogs involved in assisting search and rescue operations at the locations. On the other hand, residents having livestock received a total of five tons of forage and 13 tons of silage.
In Supiturang, the animal feed post and animal welfare service distributed 62 tons of forage and 1.2 quintals of silage, as well as treated two cows that suffered burns.

Temporary data on Sunday (December 12) at 18:00 local time on animals affected by the Semeru eruption covered 764 cows, 684 goats and 1,578 poultry. The officers are still recording data of the affected animals belonging to residents affected by volcanic material when Mount Semeru had erupted on Saturday (December 4).
They also released the death count, comprising as many as 46 people dead in the incident, 18 gravely injured, and 12 suffering minor injuries. Meanwhile, the temporary data for refugees showed a total of 9,374 people, comprising 4,576 men and 4,798 women.

The survivors were spread across 129 locations, both in Lumajang and the neighboring districts, such as Malang, Probolinggo, Blitar, and Jember. The command post identified three sub-districts where most survivors sought refuge comprising Candipuro District, with eight sites, with a total of 3,538 refugees; six locations in Pasirian, with a refugee count of 2,081; and four locations in Pronojiwo, with 1,056 refugees. The rest of the evacuation post locations are spread across several other areas or sub-districts in Lumajang District.
