Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Industry Ministry is committed to building integrity zones with a transparent, accountable, and corruption-free bureaucratic system, an official has said.

As part of measures for achieving the goal, it has been encouraging the establishment of a corruption-free area (WBK) as well as a clean bureaucratic area (WBBM) in all existing work units, the ministry's inspector general, Masrokhan, informed in a statement received here on Monday.

"Since 2015, the Industry Ministry has carried out a series of strategic measures for building an integrity zone to realize the change to good and clean governance," he added.

In 2021, the ministry asked the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform to assign the WBBM status to 14 work units within the Industry Ministry and the WBK status to 17 work units, he disclosed.

"This is in accordance with the direction of the Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, who always stresses the commitment to improve the members of the bureaucracy (and encourage them to be more) clean, productive, and accountable," Masrokhan said.

One of the work units whose name was proposed to the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform was the Denpasar Industrial Training Center, he informed.

He said that officials had visited the training center to coach officials at the center and oversee the construction of the integrity zone in the ministry's work unit in Bali.

The training center, which functions as one of the ministry's representative offices for Bali and its surrounding areas, aims to improve performance, commitment, innovation, and collaboration with all stakeholders, he added.

"In addition, Denpasar Industrial Training Center needs to continue to improve its innovations in providing public services so that its presence can provide wider added value to the public," he said.

Masrokhan lauded the training center, which has succeeded in showing tangible commitment to the development of the integrity zone, thus earning a corruption-free area tag at the end of 2021.

"We are optimistic that if Denpasar Industrial Training Center can continue to improve its public service innovations, (it) will be able to win the title of WBBM in the future. The results are very promising, especially supported by the State Civil Apparatus (ASN), who are still young and creative," he said.

Meanwhile, head of the Denpasar Industrial Training Center, Zya Labiba, said that her administration was committed to realizing the integrity zone as a clean bureaucratic area.

"In addition, we also always support employees to be able to continue to innovate in improving public services at Denpasar Industrial Training Center," she added.
