Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said he is optimistic that the meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) of the G20 countries will yield concrete steps on fiscal and monetary policies.

"I believe that the meeting between the Ministers of Finance and Central Bank Governors from G20 countries will be able to formulate fiscal and monetary policy measures that synergize among countries to solve common problems," the President remarked while speaking at the virtual opening of the 1st FMCBG Meeting here on Thursday.

The President said that all parties must collaborate to deal with global strategic issues and focus on tangible and measurable achievements to overcome and prevent problems and ensure more inclusive and sustainable global economic growth.

With the spirit of recovering together, recovering stronger, Indonesia is pushing discussion on global priority agendas, according to Widodo.

"We must strengthen the strengthening of the global health architecture. We must facilitate and finance the transition to a green economy and accelerate the transformation of the digital economy," he said.

Indonesia is very enthusiastic about holding the G20 Presidency and making a contribution to the world, he added.

Hence, Indonesia will encourage synergy and collaboration, including between the ministers of finance and G20 central bank governors, for formulating appropriate fiscal and monetary policies to address global problems, he said.

"I have high hopes for the Ministers of Finance and the Governors of the Central Banks of G20. I hope that this meeting will produce concrete synergistic and collaborative steps, which can be implemented immediately, and the results will soon be visible. Recover together, recover stronger," Widodo remarked.
