I estimate that the renovation of the tennis court venue in Manahan will take about two and a half months to complete
Solo, Central Java (ANTARA) - The Public Works and Public Housing Ministry dispatched a team to survey venues for the ASEAN Para Games XI 2022 in Solo, Central Java, on Thursday.

General chairman of the National Paralympic Committee, Senny Marbun, said that the ministry's team, which was divided into four groups, scouted venues in Karanganyar, Sukoharjo, and Solo.

The first team inspected the swimming venue at Intan Pari Karanganyar and the table tennis venue at RM Said Karanganyar Sports Center. The second team reviewed the sitting volleyball venue at the Solo Tunas Pembangunan University (UTP) Sports Center, the goalball venue at the Solo Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Sports Center, and the CP football venue at UNS Solo Stadium.

The third team surveyed the badminton venue at the Surakarta Muhammadiyah University Edutorium in Sukoharjo, the Solo Manahan Stadium for the opening and closing event, as well as the archery venue at Solo Kotabarat Field.

The fourth team inspected the wheelchair tennis court and athletic track at Manahan Stadium, the boccia venue at the Sports Science University Manahan Sports Center, and the judo venue at the Tirtonadi Convention Hall Solo.

The fourth team also reviewed the Manahan Solo tennis court. The team checked the condition of both the field and toilets for disabled athletes who will compete in the Asian Para Games and then head to the athletic track at Manahan Stadium, Solo.

According to the manager of the NPC Indonesia Tennis Team, Yasin Onasie, his administration has suggested to the ministry's team that the entire tennis court venue be repainted, ramps be installed for improving access, and six toilets for the disabled be repaired since they were used for the 2011 APG in Solo.

The Manahan Solo tennis court venue already has facilities for people with disabilities, and not many renovations would be needed, so it was estimated that in three months, it would be ready to be used for the 2022 APG XI wheelchair tennis match.

A member of the fourth team from the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, M. Iqbal Hilmi, said that currently, the team is only looking at the condition of the venues and the recommendations provided by NPC Indonesia would be used as inputs to report to the ministry.
