"Now, the command post points will be added with booster (vaccination services)," head of the Jakarta Health Office Widyastuti said here on Thursday.
The services will be provided at the command posts that usually open during the Eid homecoming exodus period, she informed.
She urged people who are going to join the Eid exodus to get the booster before the exodus and not wait for the vaccination services that will be provided at the bus terminals.
"We hope that people will not wait (to get vaccinated) on the day of departure. We appeal to residents to get the booster dose not only because they want to join the exodus," she said.
Meanwhile, ever since the government decided to make booster vaccinations a requirement for the Eid exodus, the Health Office has recorded an increase in the demand for booster vaccinations to 100 thousand doses per day on average from 20 thousand doses per day earlier.
"It has increased significantly," she noted.
The increase has also been supported by the provision of vaccination centers by community health centers that are providing vaccination services until night.
The Health Office is also providing vaccination services in places of worship, for example, after tarawih prayer at mosques.
Earlier, President Joko Widodo had emphasized that people will be allowed to join the Eid al-Fitr exodus if they complete the primary and booster vaccinations.
The President also said that every exodus activity should be conducted with strict adherence to the COVID-19 health protocols.
According the data from the provincial government of Jakarta, the booster vaccination coverage in the province has reached 3.09 million.
Meanwhile, 12.5 million people have received the first dose and 10.6 million people have obtained the second dose.
