Jakarta (ANTARA) - Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah is a momentum to maintain unity within the party ahead of the 2024 General Election, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, concurrently Chairman of the Golkar Party, has said.



"For Golkar members, this momentum could increase our solidity by consolidating the party and prioritizing our winning in the 2024 general election by working hard to convince the public," Hartarto remarked after performing the Eid prayer at the Ainul Hikmah Mosque at the Golkar Party Office, here on Monday.



He also emphasized the importance of maintaining internal unity and integrity within the Golkar Party and society.

"We must maintain unity. Eid al-Fitr is an important momentum to strengthen unity by not hurting the community, neighbors, and families, especially fellow Golkar members," he added.



Hartarto said he is grateful that the Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah prayer could be held in mosques, prayer rooms, and open fields after being restricted for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.



"Finally, we can meet face to face with friends, relatives, neighbors, and the surrounding environment," he added.



The minister also noted that ahead of Eid al-Fitr, people were finally allowed to go back to their hometowns and meet their families.

"We should be grateful for this since the control and the handling of COVID-19 in our country is getting better, so that we can celebrate Eid al-Fitr and go home as we feel now. Of course, we still urge the community to implement the health protocols, especially by wearing masks," Hartarto said.

Paul; General treasurer Dito Ganinduto; Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita; Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR) Ahmad Doli Kurnia; Head of religious affairs T.B. Ace Hasan Syadzily; AMPG General Chair Ilham Permana; and DPP Chairman Muhidin M. Said also attended the Eid prayer at the Golkar Party's DPP Office.
