One of the priority issues of Indonesia's G20 Presidency is digital and economic transformation, hence, digital MSMEs are the backbone (of the transformation) through the utilization of QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesia Standard) for payment transaTernate, North Maluku (ANTARA) - The “Proud of Indonesia-made Products Movement" (Gernas BBI) is a medium to promote village products, Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Abdul Halim Iskandar has said.
"Through the ‘Proud of Indonesia-made Products Movement' we have campaigned for Indonesian products, village products, MSMEs’ (micro, small, and medium enterprises’), and village-owned enterprises' products," Iskandar noted at a Gernas BBI event here on Thursday.
The minister said that the movement has been successful in improving three aspects -- awareness, attitude, and action -- to achieve the program’s goals.
To demonstrate the commitment to local products and promote their use, the minister said that he has prohibited the use of foreign products within the ministry.
"I have prohibited foreign-brand mineral waters within the ministry now. All banquets and seminar kits (used by the ministry) must be supplied by village-owned enterprises and MSMEs," the minister disclosed.

At the event, Coordinating Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that those who use products made by village-owned enterprises and MSMEs are helping advance Indonesia.
“The Gernas BBI movement has an MSMEs exhibition and encourages residents to rely upon digital transactions. Village-owned enterprises are a medium to advance local product ecosystems. We must optimize village-owned enterprises' products to develop the community," Pandjaitan stated in a video conference at the event.
Meanwhile, Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Doni Primanto Joewono praised Indonesian MSMEs as the backbone of the national economic and digital transformation.

The deputy governor expressed the hope that Gernas BBI events this year would be intensified so that MSMEs can continue to benefit from them.
