Jakarta (ANTARA) - Good communication and interaction among countries is the only way to stop misunderstanding and rivalry that lead to global upheaval, according to Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto.

"At this moment, the only way to get out of misunderstanding and rivalry is good communication and interaction," the minister stated while addressing the VIP Aircraft Tour Indo Defence Expo and Forum 2022 at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase in Jakarta on Friday.

It is time to stop any form of misunderstanding and rivalry among countries, now that the world is getting smaller. Hence, any event that takes place in a country will have a global effect and influence on the stability, security, and safety of other countries, he stated.

One of the examples to present good communication and interaction among countries is the holding of international forums, such as the Indo Defence Expo and Forum, he remarked.

"In my opinion, this forum is not merely for the defense industry, but it is likely that this forum will present opportunities to make interactions, contact, and communication. Here we can see many leaders of countries with stable defense. Here we can hold good talks," he affirmed.

The minister noted that Indo Defence is striving to present good communication among countries, especially through their leaders, by holding luncheons and dinners together.

"We are the people of Southeast Asia and Asia and the Pacific. We are fond of assembling. Even in the morning, we prepare a breakfast or brunch we (will) offer. That is our culture. In our culture, guest is very important, so we are not only present but also interact. I am very proud of this tradition," he stated.

This means that through this tradition, Indonesia is an ally of all countries and will always maintain friendship with other countries, he affirmed.

"Hence, we can assist all countries by maintaining good communication," he stated.
