Our struggle to recover from the crisis caused by new challenges in the economic, political, social, and environmental fields will only succeed if we implement clean and good governance, free from corruptionJakarta (ANTARA) - Acts of corruption could worsen the impact of food crisis in several countries, according to Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
"Corruption in water and land services will have a negative impact on the welfare of farmers, so it can worsen the impact of the food crisis," Amin noted at the commemoration of the 2022 World Anti-Corruption Day here, Friday.
The 2022 World Anti-Corruption Day, themed "Indonesia Recovers United Against Corruption," was held on December 9-11, 2022.
Amin noted that World Anti-Corruption Day served as a reminder to people that corruption is the main enemy in the country and akin to COVID-19, corruption is also a global disaster.

According to the vice president, all countries realize that corruption is the root of various problems. Corruption also corrodes the nation's achievements.
"Our struggle to recover from the crisis caused by new challenges in the economic, political, social, and environmental fields will only succeed if we implement clean and good governance, free from corruption," he remarked.
Amin noted that high-value resources should be managed and utilized for the benefit of the people instead of enriching individuals, groups, or corporations.
"The difficult situation we are currently facing will be harder due to corrupt behavior," he remarked.
Thus, the pattern of non-transparent permit management and policy-making without integrity will cause the state to lose potential revenue in the energy and mineral resources sector, Amin noted.
"Therefore, all efforts to restore the national socio-economic needed support from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and all stakeholders to avoid corrupt behaviors," he remarked.
