Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture emphasized the need for youngsters to play an active role in the development of human resources (HR) to realize an excellent and quality generation.

"To achieve quality human resources, the collaboration of various parties, especially the involvement of youngsters, is needed," the ministry's Deputy for Coordination for the Improvement of Children, Women, and Youth Quality, Femmy Eka Kartika Putri, stated when contacted on Friday.

Putri noted that the development of quality human resources, in terms of the aspects of health and education, must start early.

"Thus, it will support various efforts to realize quality human resources in a bid to welcome the demographic dividend," she remarked.

She affirmed that quality human resources will play a strategic role in supporting economic and social development and the nation's welfare improvement.

Putri stated that the government is encouraging youngsters to continually enhance their skills and potential.

"The government is encouraging youngsters to contribute to national development, especially human resource development, by enhancing skills and potential," she noted.

She further highlighted the need for youngsters to actively participate in addressing various issues, such as education, health, gender, and leadership.

Putri noted that the ministry continues to encourage all ministries, agencies, regional governments, and other stakeholders to continue to optimize human resource development to realize an excellent and quality generation.

"The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture also continues to increase dissemination (of information) regarding human resource development based on the life cycle, which is Indonesia's priority to welcome the 2030 Demographic Dividend and 2045 Golden Indonesia," she stated.

She noted that based on the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data, in 2021, the number of youngsters in Indonesia stood at 64.92 million.

"It is hoped that the youth, who are the nation's next generation, with this quite large number, can contribute positively to the development and make Indonesia a developed, modern, and competitive country," she remarked.
