"I hope this can entertain and motivate children to reach their dreams amid various challenges and limitations," he said here on Sunday.
The orphans, under the care of Jakarta Social Office, were transported to a cinema at Episentrum Rasuna Said Kuningan in South Jakarta.
The watching movie program is a sharing and caring event as several of these children have special needs or disabilities.
Hartono also shared gifts filled with necessities to support children with disabilities along with a coupon worth Rp200,000.
He also asked the children who watched the film "Tegar" to learn from it and get inspired.
"I hope it can be an inspiration for the people to appreciate and support one another," Hartono said.
In addition, he also lauded private sector and other stakeholders for supporting the event.
Moreover, the acting governor noted that the activity is part of the Jakarta administration's efforts to create equality and justice for every citizen in all activities.
Meanwhile, "Tegar" was directed by Anggi Frisca with Chandra Sembiring acting as the producer.
This cinematographic work is a family movie which encourages people to understand equal rights and support within families.
The film was adapted from the real life stories of several people with disabilities.
The film tells the story of people with disabilities' struggle to receive education and equal rights as the creation of God.
The film also managed to win international acclaim through the Best Actor award in Balimakarya Film Festival and Best Young Actor in Cannes World Film Festival.
