The vice president made the statement at the awarding for Prime Service and Integrity Zone in the National Police Scope here on Tuesday.
"We all realize that every scandal that rises from the police institution, in any country, will lead to concerns, protests, and even public agitation," he remarked.
Moreover, social media has made it more difficult for the government to hide things from public scrutiny. Hence, it should be something that motivates the national police to conduct reform within its institution, he noted.
Amin stated that the people's tendency to always monitor the national police's decisions and moves reflected the strong relations between the police and the public. Hence, he expected the national police to always establish good ties with everyone.
The vice president commended the national police for having conducted its duties well. He opined that all personnel of the national police across the country had contributed and dedicated themselves for the state.
"Thanks to National police personnel's hard work, cases of narcotics, land mafia, illegal online loans, and concerning terrorism acts that compromise development, came to light and a stop was put to them," he added.
The national police also contributed significantly in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic, he stated.
The vice president advised the national police to maintain and improve its work performance and provide best services to the public.
"Prioritize transparency, objectivity, and professionalism, which I abbreviate as TOP," he noted.
On the occasion, Amin listed four measures to be adopted in order to improve performance in public services.
The first measure is for the national police to pursue innovation and improve the quality of all their units, so it would become a clean, trustworthy institution that is free from corruption.
Secondly, the national police can improve the competencies of its human resources by honing their managerial, technical, social, and spiritual skills in order to facilitate better management of the institution.
The third is to improve dedication and collaboration with other institutions and regional governments, so that all have equal opportunity to safely access high-quality public services.
Lastly, the vice president expected police personnel to consistently maintain safety and security as well as uphold neutrality as the general election draws near.
