"KAI is still providing the public, both travelers and train passengers, who wish to receive a vaccination at Gambir Station, Pasar Senen Station, and other stations starting at 8 a.m.–12 noon local time," he informed at Gambir Station, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Even though vaccines are no longer a mandatory requirement for long-distance travel, passengers can still get vaccine services by visiting health posts provided at each train station, he said.
As of Tuesday, there is one vial of vaccine available at Gambir Station, and based on reports from the health post officers, the vaccine stock at Gambir Station has run out.
However, the number of vaccines provided at Gambir Station is indeed less than that at Pasar Senen Station, considering the volume of passengers at Pasar Senen Station is higher, he informed.
"All health workers at the health posts will also help to perform first aid if a passenger experiences an illness. There is also medicine provided for passengers," he said.
Moreover, if the passenger is seriously ill, they will be immediately referred to the nearest health facility and hospital, Tohari said.
Referrals will be directed at hospitals and health facilities that have collaborated with state-run insurance company PT Jasa Raharja, he added.
In addition, KAI health posts also provide health screening services, namely blood pressure checks for passengers free of charge, he noted.
During Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return flow, PT KAI continues to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers. All officers on the train are also required to undergo regular medical tests at the station before departure, he informed.
As of Tuesday, PT KAI recorded there were 42 thousand travelers who arrived in Jakarta and its surroundings on D+3 Eid.
“Today, there were 42 thousand passengers who arrived, of these, 16,200 passengers got off at Pasar Senen Station, 16 thousand passengers at Gambir Station, 4 thousand passengers at Bekasi Station, and 4,400 passengers at Jatinegara Station," head of public relations of PT KAI operational area (Daop) 1 Jakarta, Eva Chairunisa, disclosed on Tuesday.
She said that the majority of passengers who arrived in Daop 1 Jakarta came from Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Solo, Purwokerto, Kutoarjo, and Malang.
