Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Finance of Indonesia Sri Mulyani discussed renewable energy investment plans with investors and companies from South Korea at a business forum "South Korea Re:Invest Indonesia 2023" in Incheon, South Korea, Wednesday (May 3).

"As two countries that both have a focus on developing renewable energy, I hope that Indonesia and South Korea will continue to have a constructive and harmonious relationship," Sri Mulyani noted on her official Instagram account @smindrawati, as quoted in Jakarta, Thursday.

The minister drew attention to Indonesia's commitment to continuing to expedite the transition to clean and renewable energy through means, such as the Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) that was launched during Indonesia's G20 Presidency in November 2022.

This commitment is also realized through various road maps and policies that are targeted to be achieved in the medium term by 2030 and long term by 2060.

In an effort to realize the philosophy of a just and affordable energy transition in the energy sector, Indonesia remains steadfast in ensuring four things, with the first being stability in the availability of essential services, such as electricity.

Secondly, it remains focused on ensuring price stability for energy, food, and public transportation, while the country's third priority is social protection for the poor and vulnerable.

The fourth area of focus is the application of the principles of sustainable development.

Sri Mulyani said the business forum was held in order to welcome the golden age of relations between Indonesia and Korea that date back 50 years.

Along with the finance minister, Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo, Head of the National Capital Authority Bambang Susantono, as well as Ambassador of Indonesia for South Korea Gandi Sulistiyanto were also present at the forum.
