Family development is the main foundation for advancing the nation.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) said it mainly targets members of millennial and post-millennial generations to be more involved in the Family Development, Population, and Family Planning (Bangga Kencana) Program.
Their involvement is important as family development is the main foundation for advancing the nation, Head of BKKBN Hasto Wardoyo said here Saturday.
Indonesia’s demographic dividend is expected to reach its highest point between 2025 and 2035 and it must continue to be optimized, he said.
He emphasized that the development of young families with good quality of life is the key to realizing the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision because the quality families will lead to a healthy and productive life.
Hence, members of the current young generation will determine the direction of the nation's future development, the BKKBN head stated.
Thus, to gain their interest in knowing more about the program, the government should disseminate information on it in attractive ways which meet the needs of young people nowadays, he said.
The public awareness campaign on the Bangga Kencana Program should not only contain information on family planning program, but also on stunting, drug-free lifestyle, zero child marriage, prevention of free sex, and other family issues.
For instance, the younger generations should be educated about causes of and bad impacts on childhood stunting as well as efforts to eradicate it, he noted.
In this regard, the Prosperous Family and Family Empowerment (KSPK) activity groups play a crucial role in determining whether or not the family development program runs well, he said.
Apart from the health aspect, the quality of a family should also be monitored and assessed according to the Family Development Index (I-Bangga) whose points include family peace, independence, and happiness, he said.
He informed that the achievement of the index is targeted to reach 61 in 2024.
According to the.BKKBN’s data, the national average of the index only reached 56.07 in 2022, although the agency targeted it to reach 57.
He noted that the provinces with the highest index points were Yogyakarta (59.42), Riau Islands (59.39), and Banten (58.97).
"Meanwhile, the.provinces with lowest ones were Papua (46.32), West Papua (51.45), and East Nusa Tenggara (53.51)," he added.
