"I think dozens have been questioned, and then KPK also has information as prospective evidence," the antigraft body's spokesperson, Ali Fikri, said here on Thursday.
Fikri informed that the commission is currently focusing on collecting information from witnesses. After this is completed, the investigation team of the commission will decide whether to continue the legal proceedings in the case or not, he added.
"Afterward, I think we will undertake measures, after all the people (in question) come and enough (information has been collected), we can make some conclusions on some things regarding the investigation process," he explained.
He stressed that the investigation into the alleged corruption case is targeted at the Agriculture Ministry, not against Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo in particular.
"I need to underline that it is the Agriculture Ministry (we are examining), alright, so no one must misunderstand or get it wrong. Because we saw in the news that there are some people who are deliberately making it seem like the KPK is targeting a minister, or even relating it to politics," he said.
The investigation into the alleged corruption case at the Agriculture Ministry was first initiated at the beginning of 2023, he added.
The Corruption Eradication Commission has invited Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo to its office on Friday (June 16, 2023) to provide information regarding the case, he added.
"Yes, (he is) scheduled to come tomorrow, on Friday, at 9:30 a.m. to the Corruption Eradication Commission's Red and White Building," Fikri confirmed.
He said that the commission expects Minister Limpo to come to the office to give information.
