Head of the Public Information Bureau at Polri's Public Relations Division Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan stated in Jakarta on Thursday that six terror suspects were arrested in West Nusa Tenggara, five in South Sumatra, and four in Lampung.
Meanwhile, three other suspects were arrested in the provinces of West Kalimantan, West Java, and West Sumatra.
"The suspects are members of different terrorist groups, namely Anshor Daulah and Jamaah Islamiyah," Ramadhan noted.
The police officer noted that on October 2 in West Sumatra, the anti-terror squad managed to apprehend a suspect, with the initials RA, who played a role as a propagandist on social media.
Densus 88 arrested a member of the Anshor Daulah terrorist group, identified by the initials as AT, in West Java on October 5, he stated.
On October 15-16, the squad succeeded in detaining five suspects in South Sumatra, with the initials as HN, MA, IW, AS, and AN, he revealed.
"They are members of the Jamaah Islamiyah terrorist group," he underscored.
Furthermore, he revealed that on October 18, four other members of Jamaah Islamiyah, with the initials as MA, AS, IS, and S, were arrested in Lampung Province.
"The suspects are members of the Anshor Daulah terrorist group," he noted.
Another social media propagandist was captured in Sambas District, West Kalimantan, on October 19, with the initials UH, he stated.
On the following days up to October 23, he remarked that the police's special squad once again found and arrested terror suspects, with the initials as M, I, BH, RM, M, and MIW, in West Nusa Tenggara.
He further affirmed that the Densus 88 team would continue to make utmost efforts to prevent potential acts of terror in Indonesia.
"In principle, we have not witnessed a rise in the threats of terror crimes. Densus 88 is putting all-out efforts to take preventive measures for thwarting acts of terror in the homeland," he concluded.
