The police force has formed nine task forces for the operation, which include the preventive task force, pre-emptive task force, and action task force, head of the Polri's Public Information Bureau, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, said here on Thursday.
The remaining six are the law enforcement, presidential and vice presidential candidates' security, anti-terrorism, security for polling stations overseas, public relations, and operational assistance task forces.
"This meeting aims to explain the preparedness of each task force involved in Operation Mantap Brata," Ramadhan said.
The nine task forces have several sub-task forces. During the meeting, each task force reported to the chief of operations about their readiness and the obstacles they were facing.
"Today, each head of the task force presents the readiness of their forces, starting from the pre-emptive, preventive, law enforcement, and so on," he revealed.
Meanwhile, the strategies for the operation have been prepared, including the task division as well as the number of personnel and equipment.
"Before carrying out the task, there is pre-operation training to improve the professionalism and ability of each member who is serving in Operation Mantap Brata," he explained.
Through the pre-operation, all members are expected to understand their duties well.
"We invite the public to support a peaceful and orderly implementation of the 2024 elections," Ramadhan said.
Operation Mantap Brata officially started on October 19, 2023, and will end on October 20, 2024. It will involve 261,695 police personnel from the level of Police Headquarters to regional police across the country in securing all stages of the election.
