Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Police chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, urged all parties to ensure that political differences during the 2024 elections do not hurt the unity of Indonesian society.

"Even though there are differences of opinion, that is normal. Do not let differences of opinion, differences in choices destroy the unity. We must continue to maintain unity," he stressed here on Saturday.

It is expected that the implementation of the democratic festival, which takes place every 5 years, would be carried out cheerfully and happily, he added.

The National Police chief also invited all parties to maintain dignified politics. "We avoid things that can divide people, can divide society and religion," he said.

According to him, whoever is elected as the next Indonesian leader must be able to encourage development to achieve a Golden Indonesia by 2045.

In addition, Prabowo called for continued synergy and solidity between the military/police and ministries/institutions in order to face the election implementation stages.

"This is a crucial point for us to be able to leap forward if we can hold this election safely, smoothly, and peacefully," he said.
