According to Asy'ari, this is aimed at helping each candidate pair prepare the materials for elaborating their visions and missions regarding the State Budget (APBN) so that they only convey valid data to the public.
"Their visions and missions related to the State Budget will be detailed. It is important to pay attention to the availability of the State Budget in formulating plans for the next five years," he said at the KPU Office.
Asy'ari disclosed that the KPU has met with the teams of each pair of candidates and informed them about the plan, adding that the commission would soon determine the dates for the meetings between the candidates and the Bappenas.
The KPU is also planning to assist the country's top leader candidates in holding meetings with the Ministry of Finance, with the objective of providing the candidates comprehensive information for devising plans for the next half decade, he said.
He also confirmed that Jakarta would host all five presidential and vice presidential debates, which will be broadcast by a number of national television stations and electronic media channels.
The first and second debates are scheduled on December 12 and 22 this year, while the next debates will take place on January 7, January 21, and February 4 next year.
On November 13, the KPU announced the names of the three presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs contesting the 2024 presidential election: Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.
The next day, the KPU assigned serial numbers for the pairs, with Baswedan-Iskandar given serial number one, Subianto-Raka serial number two, and Pranowo-Mahfud number three.
The commission has also determined that the campaign period for the upcoming election will start on November 28 and end on February 10 next year, while the election will take place on February 14, 2024.
