Of course, if the object is the government, the government will pay attention to those voices.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said the release of the viral documentary film Dirty Vote on YouTube on Sunday is part of the political dynamics in Indonesia.
"I think that is the dynamic of our politics. Of course, if the object is the government, the government will pay attention to those voices," he added at the Vice Presidential Palace here on Monday.
He is of the view that the voices and aspirations spread during the 2024 election, including through documentaries, must be responded to well.
He stressed that the most important thing is that the elections run well and concerns, such as the polarization of the society, do not occur.
He said that the elections should not cause hostility, but increase the good and improve the situation.
"Do not let the election cause problems such as divisions that cause our setbacks," he cautioned.
In addition, the VP asked all relevant parties and agencies, including the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), to ensure that the elections run well and in a just and fair manner.
"There are already executors, witnesses, and all are watching at the polling stations. Hopefully, there will be no dishonesty. We hope that the election runs smoothly," he said.
Dirty Vote has been directed by Dandhy Dwi Laksono. In a written statement, Laksono said that the film is a form of education for the public to exercise their right to vote on February 14, 2024.
As of Monday, the video has been watched 4.2 million times and liked by 248 thousand YouTube users.
