No one should miss work days.Semarang (ANTARA) - The Ministry of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) has approved a proposal for a two-day work-from-home (WFH) arrangement for civil service officials during the Eid return flow, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said.
"I have just received a WhatsApp message from the PANRB Minister who has agreed to allow civil servants to work from home for two days," he said in Semarang, Central Java, on Saturday.
The government plans to implement the WFH scheme for civil servants on April 16-17.
Sumadi said he hoped the scheme would allow civil servants traveling for Eid to return to Jakarta smoothly.
He said that the two-day duration of the WFH scheme was chosen based on the projection of heavy traffic during the return flow by the Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri).
"We appeal to Eid travelers to pick the right time to return home and take rest when feeling exhausted," he added.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Muhadjir Effendy, urged civil servants to immediately join the return flow if their children need to resume school from April 16.
"Do not let the children skip school," he emphasized.
He also warned civil servants against absenting themselves from work on April 17-18 after working from home.
"No one should miss work days," Effendy said.
Meanwhile, Korlantas Polri Head Police Inspector General Aan Suhanan predicted that the peak of this year's Eid return flow would be on Monday (April 15).
"We would like to remind Jakarta-bound travelers to maintain your health and refrain from forcing yourselves to drive," he said.
