"We invited the national and local media news directors to see first-hand the IKN development progress," Tjahjanto said here.
The news directors of 51 national media and five local media outlets were invited to the tour.
"This IKN tour visits the presidential office, the Garuda Palace, the Ceremonial Plaza, and the National Axis, and to see the readiness of the Independence Day Ceremony in IKN," Tjahjanto informed.
The area will serve as the venue for of the 79th Independence Day ceremony in Nusantara.
Minister Tjahjanto asked the media to support national development, especially in the new capital city.
"Mass media is the nation's core component that cannot be left behind in building Indonesia together," he said.
He described the gathering of news directors at IKN as a momentum to improve the relationship between the media and the government.
IKN is a national strategic development that is being carried out step-by-step and sustainably as part of efforts to build an advanced Indonesia.
"By seeing the IKN progress directly, the mass media is expected to report positively about the Indonesian new capital development," the minister said.
Tjahjanto added that a meeting with news directors will be held regularly to discuss strategic development issues.
Earlier, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) invited several influencers to visit IKN Nusantara for an overnight stay.
Furthermore, the State Palace, Garuda Palace, and some ministerial buildings have been readied to support the Independence Day ceremony at Nusantara, the Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) informed on August 1, 2024.
