The company’s Bali sales team is currently looking into the matter, Ahad Rahedi, Communication, Relations, and CSR Manager for the East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara region, stated on Tuesday.
The gas station, located on Jalan Pulau Komodo, Denpasar, is under the purview of Pertamina Patra Niaga's Jatimbalinus Region, based in Surabaya.
A video posted on social media on Monday, August 12, shows a customer complaining about a Rp5,000 fee charged for a Rp100,000 purchase of Pertamax fuel.
Ahad clarified that the customer bought non-subsidized Pertamax using a jerry can, which is permitted as long as safety standards are met and other customers are not inconvenienced.
An internal investigation revealed that the gas station violated company SOPs.
“Our inspection revealed service violations of the established standard operating procedures (SOP),” he remarked.
In response, Pertamina demanded a report from the gas station and terminated the employment of the employee responsible.
Additionally, the company is providing training to staff to improve customer service.
The gas station supervisor, Nyoman Sukirta, apologized for the incident and assured the public that corrective measures had been taken.
