"Today, we dispatched a CN-295 airplane to transport logistics assistance to those affected by the eruptions of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki," El Tari Air Base Commander Air Commodore Djoko Hadipurwanto told ANTARA at El Tari Airport, Kupang City, NTT, on Friday.
According to Hadipurwanto, the aid delivered this morning was received from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the NTT provincial government, banks, as well as members of the public.
The aircraft had earlier conducted a similar mission to Larantuka Sub-district of East Flores District on Thursday (November 14).
Hadipurwanto remarked that the deployment of the CN-295 aircraft aims to prevent aid items collected from various parties from piling up in Kupang City.
"This aircraft will stay here until an unspecified time. It will always be ready for duty," he remarked.

Meanwhile, he revealed that the Air Force has put its Caracal helicopter on standby to evacuate residents from hard-to-reach areas affected by the eruptions.
The air force officer further stated that the El Tari Air Base has set up a disaster emergency post intended to serve as a hub for all the assistance collected to be delivered by the CN-295 aircraft.
He then emphasized that the operations of the aircraft and helicopter reflect the Air Force's genuine care for the people hit by the volcanic disaster, which began with an eruption on the evening of November 3.
