Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, has emphasized that his ministry is collaborating with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to build national sports achievements.

"We ensure that the collaboration between the Youth and Sports Ministry and the SOEs Ministry to build sports and youths' achievements so that they can be more global," he said on his official Instagram account, which was accessed from here on Friday.

He made the statement after a meeting with SOEs Minister Erick Thohir to discuss the progress of the sports industry and achievements on Thursday.

Ariotedjo informed that he and Minister Thohir agreed to strengthen collaboration to develop the younger generation's potential and participation in sports.

At the meeting, Ariotedjo and Thohir, who is also chair of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), also discussed the national football team.

Minister Ariotedjo said that his side is prioritizing football in sports development. The sport is expected to bring Indonesia many achievements on the world stage.

"All stakeholders should be more focused on improving the country's football achievements," he added.

Earlier, on December 31, 2024, Deputy for Youth Empowerment at the Youth and Sports Ministry, Asrorun Ni'am Sholeh, said that this year, the ministry will prioritize programs that are in line with President Prabowo Subianto's grand Asta Cita vision.

"Our focus is to support President Prabowo's directives, especially in eradicating online gambling, illegal drugs, and strengthening digital literacy to prevent the negative impact of technology," she added.

In this case, she said that the ministry is ready to become the main driver of youth-related programs.
