During the closing ceremony of the event at the Military Academy, Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday (February 27), Maharani noted that President Prabowo Subianto had called on regional heads to assist his administration in achieving national development targets.
"It is vital to synchronize policies of the central government with those implemented by regions," he noted in DPR's statement cited in Jakarta on Friday.
The lawmaker then urged regional leaders to leave no stone unturned in serving the people, as she believes that each local government has the opportunity to make significant contributions to the history of the Indonesian nation.
"In order to properly serve the homeland, the nation, and the state, we should work with devotion and honor," she emphasized.
The daughter of former president Megawati Soekarnoputri also expressed President Prabowo's aspiration that the eight-day orientation would foster strong bonds among the participating governors, district heads, and mayors.
She affirmed that such connections are essential for smooth communication among regions.
Maharani then observed that the national retreat had facilitated its participants to communicate informally, exchange experiences, and share insights on ways to address issues evident in regions.
President Prabowo also attended the closing ceremony of the orientation retreat, where he delivered directives to the regional leaders in a closed-door meeting.
Several ministers, Commander of the Indonesia National Armed Forces (TNI) General Agus Subiyanto, Chief of the National Police (Polri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani, among others, were also present on that occasion.
