"We encourage prospective passengers who do not yet have train tickets to consider rescheduling their travel dates. Do not buy tickets through social media that do not have a partnership with KAI to avoid fraud or counterfeit tickets," PT KAI Operational Region (Daop) 1 - Jakarta's Public Relations Manager, Ixfan Hendriwintoko, stated here on Saturday.
Hendriwintoko emphasized that passengers found boarding with tickets that do not match their name or identity will not be permitted to board the train.
"If such incidents occur, the officers would follow up because there was an issue on social media about a passenger who did not have tickets for the homecoming and return period, and they eventually bought tickets from random places," he stated.
He also reminded the public to remain cautious of parties offering train tickets through unofficial channels, emphasizing that KAI will not be liable for tickets acquired outside official channels.
Several official channels to purchase train tickets include the official KAI website (kai.id), the Access by KAI application available on Playstore and App Store, and official ticket sales agents registered and partnered with KAI.
The public can use official channels to access various features, such as schedule and class selection and secure payment methods.
"We urge all prospective passengers to always double-check every ticket transaction and ensure its validity before making a payment. If there are any doubts or questions regarding ticket purchases, do not hesitate to contact KAI's customer service," he stated.
