According to the ministry's spokesperson, Rolliansyah "Roy" Soemirat, the agreement covers a scholarship program for specialist plastic surgeons and an agricultural grant for avocado cultivation training for the Palestinian people.
He explained that the grant was implemented in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) through the framework of the Conference on East Asian Cooperation for Palestine Development (CEAPAD).
CEAPAD is a forum established by Japan to encourage East Asian countries to contribute to the Middle East peace process, particularly in Palestine, and to support a two-state solution to the Palestine-Israel conflict.

The forum aims to encourage cooperation, investment, and the sharing of development experiences between East Asian countries and Palestine.
Roy emphasized that the international community must continue supporting efforts to build the Palestinian people's capacity and capabilities.
He also stated that the training provided to Palestinians would help them address existing challenges.
"If possible, we send experts there, or, what is more possible at this time, is to bring some experts from there to be educated in Indonesia," Roy stated during a press briefing in Jakarta on Wednesday (May 21).
