Poland (ANTARA) - The Foreign Affairs Ministry has said that the Bali Indah Cultural Park in Slupsk City, Poland, is proof of the strong diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Poland across multiple sectors, including culture.

“This also reflects an increase in people-to-people contact between Indonesia and Poland,” Acep Somantri, an expert staff at the ministry, said here on Thursday.

He noted that Indonesia and Poland established diplomatic relations in 1955. Over the past 70 years, the relationship has continued to develop, with the two countries initiating several cooperation programs.

The inauguration of the Bali Indah Cultural Park on Monday demonstrates Indonesia’s presence in Poland. Considering the long history of interaction between the two nations, Poland is also expected to maintain its presence in Indonesia.

To mark 70 years of bilateral ties, the two nations have conducted several activities, including holding a business forum, which is expected to reflect the increase in trade cooperation and investment between Indonesia and Poland.

Somantri said that in the future, Indonesia and Poland will continue to step up cooperation in areas such as culture, student exchanges, and tourism.

“Moreover, various other visits will involve all Indonesians and Poles to work together,” he added.

The Bali Indah Cultural Park is located in Strzelinko, Slupsk city. It stands on three hectares of land that will later be expanded to 15 hectares. It is planned to be the largest cultural park featuring Balinese culture in Europe.

On a separate occasion, Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, invited Polish businesses to engage in strategic and sustainable investment in the cultural sector.

“Investing in culture is an investment in the future. Indonesia’s cultural and creative economy is among the fastest-growing sectors, and we welcome partners from Poland to collaborate in this field,” he said.
