"The ecosystem of arts and culture in Bali is truly well-preserved and maintained. It is hoped that this will continue indefinitely and serve as an example for other regions across Indonesia," Fadli Zon said in a written statement received here, Sunday.
Representing President Prabowo Subianto at the opening of the 47th Bali Arts Festival in Bali, Saturday, Culture Minister Fadli expressed appreciation for the event's continuous run for over 47 years.
According to him, the Bali Arts Festival represents the cultural expressions and rich traditions of all regencies and cities in Bali.
During the Peed Aya parade release ceremony, Culture Minister struck the kulkul (traditional Balinese slit drum) to signify the official opening. He was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa, Bali Governor I Wayan Koster, Bali Vice Governor I Nyoman Giri Prasta and Head of the Bali regional House of Representatives Dewa Made Mahayadnya.
Fadli also conveyed greetings from President Prabowo Subianto, who was unable to attend in person due to an overseas working visit to attend a conference.
"Hopefully, next year the president will be able to attend in person to open the 48th Bali Arts Festival," Fadli said.
