“The synergy between the TNI and National Police symbolizes a strong partnership and a shared commitment to accelerating national development toward a Golden Indonesia,” Subiyanto noted in an official statement received by Antara.
He stressed that effective coordination between the TNI and the police is paramount to delivering optimal public service.
“Services must not only be effective but also harmonious, ensuring the public feels safe and secure,” he said.
Agus expressed hope that this collaboration would be consistently maintained to ensure national stability across regions.
“I, General Agus Subiyanto, Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, wish a happy 79th Bhayangkara Day to all members of the Indonesian National Police wherever they serve. Long live the Indonesian National Police—Rastra Sewakottama (the People’s Main Servant),” he affirmed.
Several prominent figures attended the ceremony, including former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, former Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, House Speaker Puan Maharani, and Sinta Nuriyah Wahid, the widow of former President Abdurrahman Wahid.
The main ceremony for the 79th Bhayangkara Day took place at Monas Square, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday.
In the lead-up to this year’s celebrations, Polri organized various events, including:
- National food security competitions
- Simultaneous distribution of food aid packages
- Visits to retired officers and Polri veterans
- Interfaith prayer gatherings
- Police Flag Honor Ceremony
- Opening of the Polri Sports Week
- Visits to national heroes' cemeteries
- Community creative competitions
- Cultural events such as wayang kulit (shadow puppet) shows, MSME fairs, and health service programs
- Hoegeng Award ceremony, police precinct cleanliness contests, and the Kapolri Cup
- Competitions for security guards (Satpam), private security firms (BUJP), special police (Polsus), and the “Three Pillars” of local security
- Joint celebrations with the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI)
