The violators comprise two Chinese citizens and a Pakistani national, the Makassar Immigration Office head, Abdi Widodo Subagio, said regarding the Operation Wira Waspada his office recently launched.
Operation Wira Waspada is designed to provide legal certainty for foreign nationals in Indonesia and to ensure compliance with the country's laws and regulations.
Subagio said his office has thoroughly checked the documents of 97 foreign workers, and concluded that three of them had misused their stay permits. Therefore, they are subject to deportation.
The Pakistani citizen, only identified as MI, misused his investor visa while the Chinese citizens, HQ and FM, misused their visitor visas for working, he said, adding that they would be deported.
For FM who had overstayed his visa, he should also pay overstay fees, Subagio said while urging all Indonesian companies employing foreigners to comply with the country's laws and regulations.
During the January-July period this year, the Makassar Immigration Office had deported 21 foreign nationals from India, Malaysia, Japan, Pakistan, Cameroon, China, and Turkiye, for immigration violations, he said.
