The statement was delivered by the Assistant Deputy for Production and Digitalization of Small Businesses at the ministry, Ali, at the Product Development Through Digitalization for Small Businesses event, here on Friday.
He said that digitalization should be seen as a tool to improve production efficiency, supply chain management, and traceability systems, which are now global standards.
"So far, MSMEs going digital has often been perceived as only related to financial recording and online marketing," Ali said in a ministry press release.
"In fact, digitalization also plays a vital role in strengthening downstream processing so that our products meet international standards and have higher added value," he added.
Ali acknowledged that the challenges facing MSME digitalization remain significant, ranging from low digital literacy, limited investment, to the need for ongoing technical assistance.
Therefore, the ministry emphasizes the importance of building an inclusive and collaborative digital ecosystem by involving the government, business world, academics, and the entrepreneurial community.
In its implementation, Ali said that the Ministry of MSMEs is preparing a digital platform based on public-private partnership (KPBU), which will synergize with the marketing service agency Smesco.
The platform aims to provide broader access, increase efficiency, and encourage MSMEs to move up their level.
"We hope this platform can become the backbone of an inclusive and collaborative digital ecosystem for MSMEs, allowing small businesses to more easily access technology, improve product quality, and expand their markets," Ali said.
