Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of National Development Planning Rachmat Pambudy has expressed his vision of making Bali a model for regional economic development rooted in local potential.

“We are committed to revitalizing Bali. We want to develop regional models from Aceh to Papua, rooted in the richness of local culture and identity. This is a promising first step,” Pambudy said in a ministry statement here on Monday.

He outlined six pillars of Bali’s economic revival, which are organic agriculture; maritime and fisheries; culture-based industries; crafts, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives; the creative and digital economy; and tourism.

Bappenas has been working with the Bali Provincial Government to transition the local economy toward a greener, more resilient, and inclusive system, guided by Hindu Sad Kerthi values, an integration of spiritual, social, and ecological principles.

This collaboration has produced the Kerthi Bali Economic Transformation Roadmap (TKB).

The recent reactivation of the TKB Secretariat, held at the Bali Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), marks a move to accelerate the roadmap implementation through more integrated and efficient governance.

Pambudy explained that the TKB Secretariat will act as a delivery unit, linking the central government, the Bali Provincial Government, and development partners to ensure the transformation agenda is inclusive, sustainable, and competitive.

While in Bali, the minister visited the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub at Tanjung Benoa Port, highlighting its potential in strengthening sustainable maritime tourism.

“If we succeed in developing high-end and eco-friendly tourism, this can become a new model not only for Bali, but for other regions across Indonesia,” he said.

He also affirmed that the ministry is committed to supporting local economic transformation as part of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
