Jakarta (ANTARA) -
The Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, confirmed that all hospital costs for victims of the explosion at the State Senior High School 72 in North Jakarta will be covered by the Jakarta Provincial Government.

"All medical costs will be covered by the provincial government, regardless of the hospital," Pramono said in Jakarta on Friday.

He said the move demonstrates the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring that all victims receive the necessary medical treatment.

“We will take full responsibility for all expenses,” he said.

Pramono stated that he had instructed both the Education and Health Offices, as well as the local mayor, to handle the matter. He added that identifying the perpetrators and determining the cause of the explosion would be the responsibility of the police.

He expressed condolences to the victims of the incident at SMAN 72 Jakarta, which left several students injured.

“There are 55 victims, and I spoke with them earlier. One will undergo surgery,” he said.

Earlier, Deputy Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus said that three people were seriously injured and 17 others suffered minor injuries in the explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta on Friday afternoon.

“Thank God, no one died. All 20 victims are currently receiving treatment,” he said after inspecting the school.
