IPSI is envisioned to become ASEAN’s leading polymer and plastics training hub, serving industry stakeholders, students, and professionals. Its mission is to address Indonesia’s skills gap, reduce unemployment, improve workforce capabilities, and accelerate innovation in the polymer sector.
Strengthening IPSI’s credibility is a strategic partnership with SKZ – German Plastics Center (Das Kunststoff Zentrum), one of the world’s most influential plastics institutions with more than 60 years of experience shaping global industry standards. Through an intensive “Train the Trainer” program, IPSI’s lead instructors will receive direct mentorship from SKZ experts, equipping the institute with international-level academic and industrial expertise from day one.
“In a time of rapid industrial change, technological innovation, and global economic uncertainty, building a stronger talent pool is no longer optional—it’s essential,” said Haryanto Tjiptodihardjo, President Director of IMPC. “By investing in IPSI, we are opening access to world-class training, empowering individuals to secure better jobs, earn higher incomes, and build a more resilient future as their skills grow.”
Haryanto added that the initiative reflects IMPC’s philosophy of “Doing Well by Doing Good.”
“Our Rp250 billion investment, which includes world-class polymer training and state-of-the-art facilities, is a clear testament to that commitment,” he said.
Matthias Ruff, Head of Sales Training & Research, Procuration at SKZ, welcomed the partnership, noting that the IPSI concept is “well thought out, people-centered, and positioned for success.” He emphasized that SKZ’s international “Train the Trainer” program will play a significant role in developing the institute’s instructional capabilities.
Beyond IPSI, IMPC is allocating an additional Rp150 billion (USD ~9 million*) over the next five years for research and development through the Impack Research and Innovation Center (IRIC). The investment aims to strengthen innovation across IMPC’s building products and polymer processing technologies.
With these strategic investments and global partnerships, IMPC is not only reinforcing its leadership in the polymer industry but also shaping the sector’s future while creating enduring value for its stakeholders and for Indonesia.
