Jakarta (ANTARA) - Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said the government had distributed temporary direct cash assistance (BLTS) to 33 million beneficiary households by the end of 2025.

“We observed BLTS distribution on the final day of 2025. Verified data as of today show more than 33 million recipients, with funds disbursed gradually through state-owned banks (Himbara) and Pos Indonesia,” Yusuf said while reviewing distribution at the Cikini Post Office, here on Wednesday.

He explained that BLTS had been distributed via Pos Indonesia to 18 million households, while around 17 million others received assistance through Himbara banks.

Pos Indonesia continues to optimize data collection at branches nationwide and targets full BLTS distribution for 2025 to be completed by tonight.

“Even on holidays, Pos Indonesia has kept distributing assistance over the past two months and it is continuing until tonight. In Central Jakarta alone, about 71 thousand families are served, with around one thousand handled through Cikini, and we hope it will be completed by tonight,” the minister said.

Yusuf said the BLTS distribution had undergone verification and validation by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), with data updated by the Social Affairs Ministry in coordination with social offices and all regional governments.

A beneficiary, Fiqri, 30, from Kwitang, Central Jakarta, who lives with his wife and child, said he was happy to be listed as a BLTS recipient. Fiqri was among workers laid off after previously working at a restaurant.

“I live at my in-laws’ house and have been unemployed for a year. I rely on side jobs such as selling clothes, with uncertain daily income,” he said.

Earlier, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said economic momentum was supported by Rp31 trillion in BLTS disbursement.

He noted that absorption had exceeded Rp29 trillion, with the remainder still being distributed.
