In a post on his official social media account @sekretariat.kabinet, as quoted in Jakarta, Friday, Teddy explained that the construction was part of the 15,000 units being built through Danantara.
"Within a month after the disaster, the government moved quickly to complete more than 1,000 housing units in three provinces along with the construction the other houses and repairs to public facilities," he said when confirmed in Jakarta on Friday.
According to him, on January 1, President Prabowo Subianto inspected 600 of the 15,000 housing units being built by Danantara and held a coordination meeting in Aceh Tamiang Regency in Aceh.
These units are equipped with free internet access or Wi-Fi, clean water, electricity, worship places, children's play facilities, and access to main roads.
He detailed that on this 5.5-hectare site 2,500 housing units are being building by using land owned by a state-owned enterprise.
Meanwhile, he said, the local government is also coordinating to register and organize the residents affected by the disaster, who will occupy the housing.
"Across the complex, permanent housing has also been built on 3.5 hectares. The government is building decent housing at an accelerated pace and then the local government will register and organize the residents who will occupy the housing," he said.
Previously, Teddy said the housing was built to meet several criteria namely that it was not located in a disaster-prone area, and is close to existing homes, main roads, public facilities, and workplaces.
