Jakarta (ANTARA) -

Indonesia’s Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited Aceh Tamiang district in Aceh on Friday to review recovery efforts following severe floods and landslides that struck the region two months ago.

Gibran departed Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta at 06:30 a.m., flew to Medan, and continued by helicopter to Aceh Tamiang, arriving at Bima Patra airfield at 09:27 a.m.

During the visit, he inspected post-disaster education at Public Junior High School 1 Karang Baru, reviewed operations at the local hospital, visited evacuation posts, and monitored temporary housing construction for affected communities.

The Vice President’s one-day visit underscores the government’s commitment to accelerating post-disaster recovery and ensuring reconstruction targets are met in affected areas.

The visit also aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive for rapid, visible government response from emergency relief to long-term recovery, including restoring education, healthcare, and sustainable housing access for affected residents.
