Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto and financial figure Ray Dalio discussed Indonesia’s economic prospects as well as efforts to optimize the role of the sovereign wealth fund Danantara as a driver of the country’s economic growth.

The discussion took place during a meeting between Prabowo and Dalio at the Merdeka Palace here on Friday afternoon.

“The meeting discussed Indonesia’s economic prospects, as well as the optimization and strengthening of Danantara’s role as a driver of Indonesia’s economic growth,” according to a post on the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account (@sekretariat.kabinet) on Friday.

During the meeting, the two discussed efforts to optimize Danantara as a national strategic investment management agency, including strengthening its role in promoting economic growth.

Danantara was established by President Prabowo Subianto in February 2025 to optimize state assets, manage strategic state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and act as a sovereign wealth fund.

Danantara also continues to cooperate with strategic partners to enhance its credibility and strength at the international level.

The meeting was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Investment Minister and CEO of Danantara Rosan Roeslani, Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Speaking after the meeting, Sadewa said the discussion between Prabowo and Dalio also focused on efforts to attract foreign investors to Indonesia.

“He is helping us invite foreign investors with several proposals he presented earlier. We will review them and accelerate their implementation,” he said.

He added that Dalio would help promote Indonesia abroad and bring forward several proposals to attract investor interest. The proposals will be followed up promptly so that the proposed projects can be realized soon.
