Bali Police Narcotics Investigation Director Senior Commissioner Radiant said officers arrested a 34-year-old suspect, identified as AB from Jember, East Java, who acted as a drug courier.
Radiant said the drugs were intended for distribution in several nightclubs and cafés.
"However, the exact locations remain unknown as the suspect was still awaiting instructions from a person identified as N," he said.
The case began with a public tip about a suspected drug transaction in Bualu Village, South Kuta.
Officers then conducted an investigation and arrested the suspect on April 12 at a nightclub in the Benoa area.
During an initial search, officers found three broken tablets suspected to be ecstasy.
They later searched the suspect's residence in Pemogan, South Denpasar, where they found a box containing five clear plastic bags filled with pink tablets bearing the TMT logo, hidden in the ceiling.
A total of 1,284 pills weighing around 634 grams were seized.
The suspect admitted the drugs were obtained from an unidentified person under instructions from an individual known as N, who is currently on the police wanted list.
Bali Police estimated the value of the seized drugs at Rp1.28 billion and said the operation potentially saved 1,284 lives.
The suspect has been charged under Article 114(2) of Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics, which carries penalties ranging from six years to life imprisonment or the death penalty.
Police said they will continue investigating the case to uncover broader drug networks.
