Fatmawati Soekarno Harist Syahid, the weather analyst at the Bengkulu meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency (BMKG), said that the wind was predicted to blow from the west to north at a speed of 5 to 20 knots.
He also said the wind in Bengkulu waters was predicted to blow from the west to north with the speed of 3 to 18 knots and wave reached a height of 0.75 to 2.5 meters.
The weather in Bengkulu would be cloudy with a temperature of 24 to 32 Celsius and humidity 58 to 95 percent.
The wind in Bengkulu, he said, usually blew from the west to northeast at the speed of 36 km/hour.
Moreover, seen from satellite images, clouds covered Lampung, the Indian Ocean of West Bengkulu to south of Java, he said.
Robin, a fishmonger at Baai port in Bengkulu, said the fishermen would be directed to catch fish in Bengkulu waters because the waves normally reached 2.5 meters high.
"We will discourage them to fish in the Indian Ocean of West Bengkulu because the tide waves still reached 3.5 meters high," he said.
The diversion of fishing areas, he said, because of a warning from BMKG Bengkulu that the waves in west Bengkulu to Enggano would still be still high.
