The wind in the area may be blowing from the southeast to the northwest at a speed of 5-20 knots, an analust of the Fatmawati Soekarno Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics agency of Bengkulu Harits Syahid Hakim said Wednesday.
The waves in the Bengkulu sea reached 2.5 meters high, with the wind blowing from the northwest to the northeast at a speed of 3-18 knots.
According to a satellite weather monitoring analysis there may be clouds and rain with occasional thunder in Sumatra`s central to southern parts.
In Bengkulu the wind is generally blowing from the northeast to the northeast at a speed of 3-20 knots and 36 kilometers per hour.
Harits also estimated that the weather in Bengkulu in the next 12 hours will be cloudy and light rain in the night, with a temperature of 24-32 degrees Celcius and a humidity of 60-96 pct.
A fish trader in Pulau Baai port, Bengkulu, Asyrul said the high waves had already been notified to all the fishing boats and crew.
