Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police said they had found indications of terrorist intentions in last May 25`s attack on police officers in Palu, Central Sulawesi.

The head of the National Police`s public relations division, Inspector General Anton Bachrul Alam, said here on Monday the police attackers had intended to collect firearms for use in robberies.

"They wanted to collect arms to rob banks or a jewelry shops," he said.

The attackers had taken away one of the police officers` guns in the attack that left two police officers dead and another wounded.

"They planned to commit robberies to raise funds," he said.

He said the police were still investigating the case following indications of terrorist designs in the incident.

"The police are still looking for two other suspects who are believed to be hiding in a forest in Poso, namely Fauzan and Dayat or Farouk," he said.

"The two other attackers, namely Hariyanto and Furqon, have been arrested," he said.

In the attack at Bank Central Asia on Jaln Emy Saelan at around 11.30am local time on May 25, second brigadier Prawira and second brigadier Gustiar Yudhistira died while second brigadier Deddy Edwar suffered gunshot wounds.

The police officers were attacked while on duty assuring security at vital objects.

The attackers used a rifle in the attack and immediately fled on motorbikes after shooting the officers.

The two police officers died after being hit in the chest and neck.
