New York (ANTARA News) - Permanent Observer of Palestine in the UN, Riyad Mansour, said the Palestinian groups are finalizing the talks on their membership in the United Nations and they will make a decision on the issue soon.

Exclusively speaking to IRNA, Palestine's Mansour said the talks on whether the Palestinian groups want permanent membership with the UN or want to act as an observer there have not been finalized yet.

The Palestinian leaders are trying to declare their final decision on the membership in the next few days, said Mansour.

"Undoubtedly, we make our final decision before the UN General Assembly session starts on September 21," noted the Palestinian envoy.

By now, 140 world states have expressed their support for Palestine's membership of the UN as an independent country.
