Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Security personnel found four Molotov cocktail gasoline bombs when they combed a toll road that demonstrators had blocked on Friday in protest of the government`s fuel price hike plan.

Police found the Molotov cocktails after they dispersed protesters who had blocked the toll road in front of the House of Representatives (DPR).

The demonstrators were driven away by police using firecrackers, tear gas and water cannons.

Earlier, the demonstrators, who were students, laborers and members of various organizations, were able to pull down fences surrounding, as well as the main gate, of the DPR.

The DPR was holding a plenary meeting to decide whether it would support the government`s proposal to increase prices of subsidized fuel oil.

The government is planning to hike prices of subsidized fuel oil on April 1 and has submitted two options to the DPR. In the first proposal, the government seeks to raise the price of subsidized premium gasoline from Rp4,500 to Rp6,000 per liter, and diesel oil from Rp4,500 to Rp6,000 per liter.(*)
