Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government has projected the country`s copper exports to reach 431,000 tons this year.

The targets of copper production and domestic sales for 2012 are set at 674,000 tons and 418,000 tons respectively, according to data from the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry released on Wednesday.

The government has set the targets of gold production, export and domestic sales for this year at 66 tons, 53 tons and 25 tons, respectively.

The report said silver production is projected to reach 250 tons, exports 218 tons and domestic sales 25 tons.

Nickel production is expected to reach 71,000 tons and exports 72,000 tons. No domestic nickel sales will be recorded this year.

Nickel ore output is targeted to reach 34 million tons, all of which will be exported.

The government also has projected ferronickel production and exports at 19,000 tons each, and bauxite production and exports at 10 million tons, and iron ore production and exports at 5 million tons.

Meanwhile, tin production and exports are projected at 72,000 tons respectively.

No ferronickel, bauxite, iron ore and tin production will be sold domestically, the report said.
